![]() ![]() The Workstation 16.x document says Windows 10 and Windows 11 are supported as host operating systems, great, but I have Workstation 15.x and am looking for information regarding that specifically. I am left to guess their official status. Well, we have Windows 10 21H2 and Windows 11 21H2, and all those in between. The Workstation 15.x matrix stops at Windows 10 1909. You can also change whether the virtual hard disk is stored in a single file or split into 2GB files. So, the matrix is helpful but doesn't explicitly lay out the information I am looking for, nor did follow up with his results, just that the matrix was what he was looking for. The new virtual disk is still large enough to contain all the data in the original virtual hard disk. If you allocate all the disk space but later need to reclaim some hard disk space on the host system, you can convert the preallocated virtual disk into a growable disk. You can preallocate all the disk space in advance or configure the disk to grow as more disk space is needed. You can also use Virtual Disk Manager to change how disk space is allocated for a virtual hard disk. This feature is useful if you need more disk space in a given virtual machine, but do not want to add another virtual disk or use ghosting software to transfer the data on a virtual disk to a larger virtual disk. With Virtual Disk Manager, you can enlarge a virtual disk so that its maximum capacity is larger than it was when you created it. Virtual Disk Manager is included in the VMware Workstation program files directory when Workstation Pro is installed. Virtual Disk Manager ( vmware-vdiskmanager.exe) is a Workstation Pro utility that you can use to create, manage, and modify virtual disk files from the command line or in scripts.
